~Lemony Snicket, Horseradish
Whenever I feel stressed out or something, I got to my book and read. While I'm reading, all of my troubles vanish. I enter a completely new world, the world of fantasy or fiction or something like that. I love reading because of this. Right now I am reading Eldest by Christopher Paolini. I am not going to give a full review but I will give you a summary of the beginning of Eragon, the first book in the series.
The main character Eragon, lives on a farm with his uncle Garrow and his cousin Roran. While hunting one day, he finds a mysterious blue stone, not knowing what it is, but knows it has some value, he still takes it and later try's to sell it. No one want to buy it so he keeps. One night the mysterious stone cracks open and out come a baby dragon.
He knows that the empire lead by Galbotorix will find him and make Eragon make an oath of loyalty to him because Gabotorix is the only known dragon rider still around. Eragon later hides his dragon in the woods. He later finds out that the dragon is a "she" and names her Sapira. One day the Ra'zac comes looking for Eragon, the Ra'zac are the kings servants and they are looking for Eragon. Brom, a person who lives in the town tells Eragon about this, wanting to protect Saphira he goes and finds her telling her about it. For some reason she ends of flying away, Eragon tries to stop her and grabs onto her. Oddly, Saphira fly's to were Eragon found her in her egg. He starts talking to her, when she contacts him with her conscious. Saphira tells him that their minds are connected so they can talk with each other through there minds.
Eragon starts telling her that they need to get to the farm because the Ra'zac might kill Garrow and Roran. Spahira does not want to go because she tells him that the Ra'zac has killed many dragon before. Eragon starts begging her to go, reluctantly she says she will go. Eragons legs are hurting from trying to hold onto Saphira so he is forced to ride her. With Eragon on Saphira's back, they take off to head towards the farm. The farm is all burned down, frantically Eragon searches for Garrow. Eragon finds Garrow under a beam of wood, he can't lift the beam up so Saphira lifts is up, this is the first time the author shows Saphira strength. After getting him out he walks to town carrying Garrow, he later faints right before the town. He wakes up in Horst's house, the local blacksmith.
I will write more about the book in another post, but for now I will keep it at this. I really enjoyed the first book because of how the author read it and I was engage the whole time. I like books like this, and it's such cool plot I immediately fell in love with. Sometimes, I come across book's like Friederich. I am forced to read it in class and I absolutely hate it. Nothing happens expect that is shows that overtime Jews were discriminated more and more. Every one likes a different genera and Friederich is not in the genera that I like, so naturally I dis like it. I know a lot of other kids in my class don't like the book but we have no choice but to read it. Leave a comment telling me about a book you like in why.
