The musical is over. :(. That was really the only thing that made me happy to wake up in the morning. Although the musical, is over I am ready for my new art, which I am not sure what it will be but I hope it is something fun. Anyway, not much happened today, but I am sort of nervous for the YIP presentation, and more nervous for tomorrow since we get our acceptance letters back. I only applied to three schools so I won't be getting a lot of mail yet I have to open three mail packages, while full of anxiety. I wish you good luck tomorrow.
Last nights performance went great, but unfortunately is was ended early due to someone passing out during the performance. An old lady passed, no one knows why, but an ambulance arrived. The old lady is okay and she has stayed over night at emerson hospital. This was a rare thing, since this normally never happens during a musical, and I haven't heard of something like this before so this was odd. I found out about this from Mr.Culp who came down and told us what was happening. He told us to remain calm and that we will receive further instructions later. After waiting for some time, we were informed that the old lady was okay and that she was going to Emerson Hospital. Yet, and the same time we also found out that the rest of the musical would be canceled. At first, we were all bummed out, but there was nothing we could do. Anyway, we still have tonight to make the most out of the musical.
Thursday night was opening night. I have to say, it went extremely well. It was so much better than our dress rehearsal and it was a great opening night. Every one on the cast thought so and it went well. Either than that, Thursday was a normal Thursday and not much happened except for the opening night for the musical. The audience did laugh a lot with was a good sign that they enjoyed the musical. I hope you can make it to one of the nights to see the show.
Today's musical rehearsal was completely focused on act two, and it went marvelously. There were still some mess-ups, yet we were able to act like nothing happened. I think we should be able to pull of a great show tomorrow evening. If you haven't already gotten tickets, they are five dollars each and the musical is on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It should definitely be a great show, and all the members of the cast have been really dedicated so far. I am sort of nervous for the show, yet not as nervous as I was last year for the musical. Anyway, I hope you had a great day.
Today's after school musical rehearsal was a train wreck. It was like a train wreck crashed into another train wreck and then a sperm whale decided to drop by and landed on everything. Yeah, you get the image. Act one was okay and all, but act two was an insult to the integrity of musical theatre. My only hope now, is that we are able to get our act together for Thursday night.
For our Moby Dick video essay, the group I was in worked very well, and we all contributed towards the movie in different ways. Max did most of the commentary since he was the Morgan Freeman of our group, Lucas and Eliot and I did a lot of the writing and the acting. We were lucky and we had Max and Matt volunteer to be whales for one of our scenes which was very helpful. I was lucky to be Ina group that cooperated very well, and I think that was our biggest strength, out of a lot of other things that we had going for ourselves.
Some things that didn't go well for us was that 75% of the group (Max, Elliot and I) were out on Friday due to the musical, which was a big set back, but we were able to overcome that. Another thing that was not very good was that we were not able to meet out of class to finish up the video, because of the musical, again. The musical was our only set back, yet we did lose some precious time to work on our video essay.
Anyway, I would say that overall, we worked very well as a group and that our video essay was pretty good, thinking about the time we missed due to the musical. I had a fun time working on this, and I am sure the rest of my group did too.
AHHH! THE MUSICAL'S OPENING NIGHT IS ALMOST HERE! IT CAME UP SO FAST! WE NEED MORE TIME!!! AHHHHH!
So, yeah like I said the musical is almost upon us and it's opening night will be this Thursday and it will continue till Saturday. All of act one is excellent, except act two still could use some work with lines and blocking. Besides all of that, this musical should definitely be a hit and I hope it does go well, since the cast and teachers helping have put in a lot of effort and everyone deserves a good show. Once the musical is all finished and all, it is going to be hard to get adjusted to one of the other arts since there is nothing close to being on the stage. You can't replicate the feeling of being on the stage and preforming.
Today's all-day Friday rehearsal for the musical was fun, yet long and boring and a lot of standing around. I was on stage for a good amount to time, yet I was also off stage during the second half for a good amount of time, waiting to come on stage. The only annoying thing about the rehearsal was that we had not time to do homework, like we were told. After the rehearsal was over, I went to pen to paper and had Mrs.Ward's cookies which are always good, but they seemed better today than ever. We had some interesting conversations and Lucas decided that it would be fun to take a group picture and turn everyones face into his new born cousins face. It was a funny idea but then all of a sudden his phone died and he still hasn't been able to turn it on so he is going to take it to the AT&t store to see if its broken.
Besides the musical rehearsal today nothing really happened since I was at the rehearsal all day. It was still a fun rehearsal, yet not much happened today. I hope you had a good Friday.
Today was a good day (it was okay I just couldn't have thought of on other way to open my journal entry up). Out of all my classes, the people from China where in two of them, which was not bad or good. The musical rehearsal today was fun since we got to run a scene with a funny part, which has something to do with clam chowder and a briefcase. If I told you anymore, I would have to kill you.
Currently, I am sitting in the library writing this entry, and i just realized that I don't have to do any homework because I am excused from all my classes tomorrow. Yeah!
Since Riaz lost his phone, we got Riaz a new phone but with a better camera. As much and he likes it, I believe that we shouldn't have gotten him a flip phone, he should learn to suffer with the flip phone or maybe a Nokia. Now that I got that out if the way, I had a good day back. Nothing much happened today, but I it turns out that I missed a lot of the musical yesterday, and I don't quite know what is happening in English so I am in a bad position. Hope you had a good day today.
